what is hurricane tape?

With the historic destruction left behind by the 2005 Hurricane season, BUNKER INDUSTRIES INC.™ recognized the urgency to develop an ultra strong window protection system against shattering glass. Not only minimizing bodily injury from flying glass, but also minimizing damage to property by keeping water and debris from further entering into the property. Unlike other tapes that offer a false "Sense of security", the development of HURRICANE TAPE™,is true Hurricane protection for window security.

HURRICANE TAPE™ is a polyethylene acrylic adhesive tape that’s composed of woven polyethylene plastic known as warp and weft tapes. These tapes are arranged in a weave pattern of right angles to promote the tear strength of the tape. A plastic substrate is laminated to the scrim for increased integrity of the weave. The adhesive of choice is a water-based acrylic, designed to adhere in any condition particularly in cold and wet temperatures. The common use for HURRICANE TAPE™ is to minimize shattering of windows particularly in severe wind storms such as hurricanes or tornadoes. The tough weave design combined with the aggressive adhesive is extremely effective in keeping pieces of glass intact, minimizing shatter. In addition to glass applications, an array of uses are appropriate for HURRICANE TAPE™ e.g. temporary repairs on your car, boat or RV. HURRICANE TAPE™ is a very effective packaging or strapping tape as well.
